Steelhead are also very prominent, as well as various species of frogs, crayfish, snakes, and turtles. Within the Manistee-Huron National Forest that surrounds the Pere Marquette River, there's an abundance of wildlife including deer, wild turkey and small game.

Also had some higher flows but anglers were still catching some trout. The river is starting to see some good fly hatches.

The bite was slow but those putting in the time were getting a couple steelhead. Most were found in the slow deep water.
